The M717 is a mechanical point-detonating superquick (PDSQ) fuze used with 60 mm high explosive and bursting smoke bombs. The M717 is based on the M525 series of mortar PD fuzes, but differing in that it uses airflow through a restrictor to slow the fuze's arming slider.
