The PG-9VS1 (ПГ-9ВС1) round comprises the PG-9S1 (ПГ-9С1) projectile (grenade), its VP-9 (ВП-9) fuzing system, and its PG-9P (ПГ-9П) propulsion charge. The adoption date of the PG-9S1 is unclear, but is thought to be 1973. When adopted, it received the GRAU index code 7G20 (7Г20). Production of the projectile is thought to have stopped in 1976.
